Ro-Sham Throw Down

The REAL Team headed out to Hood River, OR for the 1st annual Ro-Sham Throw Down, put on by the Slider Project. The event was amazing. Bryan Elkus put together this awesome video from the event:

While the wind was VERY light for the girls heat it was still a really fun day.

We had a couple days to hang out after the contest and we got to go kiteboarding at some cool locations and spend some quality time with the locals.

Thanks to the Slider Project, 2nd Wind and Liquid Force groups for making our visit so much fun!

2010 Triple S!

The very first Triple S Invitational in 2006 was the first time I ever saw kiteboarding. That year I made it my personal goal to one day be invited. Well this year was my year. Getting invited to the 2010 Triple S was pretty much amazing. I got to ride with the very same people I first saw kiting in 2006.

The wind wasn’t ideal, but we still managed to hit every discipline. When the wind did decide to come, it didn’t hold back. One evening slider session had the boys riding 6m kites and the girls on 4’s and 5’s. Pretty insane, but really fun.

The final results had Brandon Scheid taking 1st for the men and Bruna Kajiya getting 1st for the women. I managed to walk away with 2 trophies (which was pretty cool): 1st in Sliders and 2nd Overall.

Stan and Amy get hitched!

All of REAL headed to Hilton Head, SC the first weekend in November to celebrate the union of two of our favorite REALios.

We took a quick pit-stop to check out Cafe Risque. The door was as far as we made it though!

Hilton Head was a much classier place than our pit-stop. Stan and Amy were amazing hosts. The location was great, the food was amazing, the music was fun, and the guest list was insane. REAL employees of present and past were reunited!

Congratulations guys!!!

Dog the Bounty Hunter visits REAL Watersports!

This past Halloween REAL Watersports had an exciting visit from Dog the Bounty Hunter and his wife Beth. Okay, so it was really me and Otto, but it was still just as exciting.

REAL Hosted an employee costume contest, and with our fantastic get-ups we were able to walk away with a 5’8″ Rusty Pihrana!

REAL Riding Girls

REAL Watersports offers several Women’s Kiteboarding Camps every summer. With all female instructors and students, it’s the perfect camp for women of all ages and abilities to learn how to kiteboard.

Slider Park Session

We finally got a solid day of SW in Hatteras. Unfortunately I had to work most of the day. Luckily, some people didn’t so they were able to pull out all the features for everyone to hit on their lunch breaks (thanks Ryan, Charley and Nick!).

The boys definitely stepped it up and were killing it on the John Wayne Mega Rail!

Gorge Slider Jam

The REAL Watersports Team is getting ready to head out to Hood River, OR in a few days. I’m pretty stoked to get to ride with the Gorge crew. Hatteras has spoiled us with such ideal conditions, but it will be fun to ride in a new spot.

2nd Wind Sports and The Slider Project, LLC have organized what seems to be a pretty exciting event. I plan on Kiteboarding, Skateboarding and Snowboarding in the 5 days we are there.

REAL Team Riders take honors at Triple S

This past weekend the 2009 Triple S concluded with all 3 REAL Team Riders taking away at least 1 award.

After 4 years Sam Bell was finally recognized for the amazing rider he is taking 3rd Place in Surf.

Jason Slezak once again took home the Slick Style Attitude Award.

Brandon Scheid followed up his ’08 Best Session award with 2nd Place in Slicks, 2nd Best Session and 2nd Overall.

The REAL Team did an awesome job this year. Hopefully next year we’ll see even more Team Members representing…maybe even a girl or two!
