This was one of the most fun sessions I’ve ever had, so it was cool to get a good shot out of it. Thanks Bryan Elkus for the good work!

While the wind was VERY light for the girls heat it was still a really fun day.

We had a couple days to hang out after the contest and we got to go kiteboarding at some cool locations and spend some quality time with the locals.

My first session in the ocean with a surfboard (strapped) was last week with Julien, Stan and Elkus. It was probably the most fun I have ever had kiteboarding.

A few days later we sessioned the ocean again, this time minus the straps. It was definitely harder than going with straps but I made it all the way back to MacOca so I feel it was a successful session.

Julien grabbed me on my lunch break the other day and we did one more ocean downwinder. I got to ride the 2010 Liquid Force Envy (8M). The kite is incredibly stable and the graphics are really fun. Julien definitely didn’t disappoint with this one.

Later that evening Bryan Elkus had an impromptu photo shoot in the backyard. The wind was NE which made it a little tricky, but it was pretty fun jumping over the dock.

Our transportation to the mountain was being provided by the guys at Trew. They brought their massive motor home out and loaded us all up with Trew Gear for the day.

It was pretty epic to snowboard in June, ABOVE the clouds.

After snowboarding all morning we headed back home to pack and catch the red eye headed back to Hatteras.

The weather wasn’t looking favorable for kiting in the morning so once again we headed to the skate park.

As the clouds started to clear over the river we thought it might get good for kiting. The Liquid Force crew headed over the border (to Washington) to do a shoot for 2010. Unfortunately when we got there things didn’t go as expected.

So kiting turned into a LF hangout at Tekko’s house. Then we all headed back into town to see The Hangover. Definitely the funniest movie I’ve seen in a while.

Once the movie was over we met up with the rest of the REAL Crew and headed over to the owner of 2nd Wind Sports house for a little barbecue.

It was a very chill night that ended fairly early since everyone wanted to rest up for snowboarding! That’s right, SNOWBOARDING…in June!

Joby set the fun box up regular so I was stoked. The wind was perfect for my 8M Havoc.

The Gorge is the craziest place I have ever kited. Cold water in the summer, current that runs the opposite direction of the wind, rocks, un-predictable wind, boats, and bridges…..

After sessioning for a couple of hours we made the trek back to the car (pretty far since the sand bar had grown).

Once again we ended the day skating at the awesome skate park in town (did I mention it has a marble ledge?).

After skateboarding we headed down to the sand bar to shovel snow (weird I know). 2nd Wind had organized an evening rail jam on the hill so that required all of use to shovel snow during the day. Kind of weird playing in the snow, on the river, in the summer.

After playing in the snow we headed to the other side of the sand bar and “helped” the guys pull out the fun box.

Finally around 5:00 we made it out for our first Gorge Slider session. I rode my 8M Havoc and since the box was set up goofy I only hit it toeside. Tomorrow the forecast is for WIND and regular set up on the fun box. Should be pretty awesome!
