Liquid Force 2011 Trailer

2 Aug

This year I was fortunate enough to get to participate in the 2011 Liquid Force photo shoot. Nate Appel was there to capture it all and has put together a little preview:

Tools of the Trade!

27 Mar

I was lucky enough to score the “Tools of the Trade” section in the latest issue of SBC Kiteboard Magazine. If you ever wanted to know what a 5′ girl usually kites on, then make sure to check it out.

Thanks to Bryan Elkus for the awesome shot!

…and of course to REAL Watersports and Liquid Force for all of the support!

Liquid Force Envy!

6 Mar

I’ll admit, I’m not one for change, especially when it comes to my gear. So when Julien Fillion asked me to try out the 2010 Envy last year, I was a little skeptical. Why would I want to try something new when the Havoc has always been so good?

Well, clearly Julien knows what he’s doing. I was very impressed with the stability of the kite (it only has 3 struts), and the fact that it still turns quickly and has great depower.

Bottom line: It’s good. Everyone should try it. Because you’ll love it.

2010 Liquid Force Aura

28 Nov

Just got the new 2010 Liquid Force Aura last week. The board construction is the same as last years, but the graphics are awesome.

LF Aura 131

I went up a size this year to the 131 and am finding that popping and landing is much easier with a little bit larger board. Can’t wait to get some 2010 Melissa’s on it and hit some sliders.

Sessions with Julien!

10 Sep

It’s fall in Cape Hatteras which means one thing…..Julien Fillion has graced us with his presence. I always enjoy spending time with our neighbor from the north, but I’ve gotten to kite with him a lot more than in the past.

My first session in the ocean with a surfboard (strapped) was last week with Julien, Stan and Elkus. It was probably the most fun I have ever had kiteboarding.

Typical Fall Day
A few days later we sessioned the ocean again, this time minus the straps. It was definitely harder than going with straps but I made it all the way back to MacOca so I feel it was a successful session.

Julien grabbed me on my lunch break the other day and we did one more ocean downwinder. I got to ride the 2010 Liquid Force Envy (8M). The kite is incredibly stable and the graphics are really fun. Julien definitely didn’t disappoint with this one.

Later that evening Bryan Elkus had an impromptu photo shoot in the backyard. The wind was NE which made it a little tricky, but it was pretty fun jumping over the dock.
