Liquid Force Envy!

6 Mar

I’ll admit, I’m not one for change, especially when it comes to my gear. So when Julien Fillion asked me to try out the 2010 Envy last year, I was a little skeptical. Why would I want to try something new when the Havoc has always been so good?

Well, clearly Julien knows what he’s doing. I was very impressed with the stability of the kite (it only has 3 struts), and the fact that it still turns quickly and has great depower.

Bottom line: It’s good. Everyone should try it. Because you’ll love it.

2010 Liquid Force Aura

28 Nov

Just got the new 2010 Liquid Force Aura last week. The board construction is the same as last years, but the graphics are awesome.

LF Aura 131

I went up a size this year to the 131 and am finding that popping and landing is much easier with a little bit larger board. Can’t wait to get some 2010 Melissa’s on it and hit some sliders.

Serendipty’s Last Dance?

21 Nov

Serendipity (the famed “Nights in Rodanthe” house) may have had it’s final dance with the Atlantic Ocean last week.

As “The Atlantic Assault” caused no more than rain for some parts of the island, the northern part of Rodanthe didn’t fair so well.

Serendipty playing in the ocean.

When the storm had passed the first 10 houses were left condemned.

No more swimming here.

The dune at Mirlo was completely washed away.

No more need for a walk-over

The pavement north of town was broken leaving us trapped for a few days.

Lots of toys playing in the sand

The road is open again, the houses are still condemned and Serendipty has 10 days to be moved or torn down. Should be interesting to see what happens with that.
